Project 5

My only concern is the line to be drawn between product description and the advertising plan. Companies use a description of the product as a selling point. How will these rolls differ? Working as a group has real world applications and expands on the creative process. Reliance on others for delegation reasons is essential. Individuals have different experiences to draw upon creating perspectives that may change the description of the project, hopefully for the better.

Group Project

I am looking forward to getting started with the group project. One concern that comes up for me is picking an invention that is realistic and be able to write up the project on it. I feel this project will be very beneficial for my future career because it will help with working in a group and also learning how to write up the whole project from the proposal to advertising.

I think one of the challenges my group might have would be coming up with a topic for the project that everyone in the group can agree on. Also I am concerned with what part of the project everyone in the group will pick. I want to make sure that everyone completes their part and contributes to the project. I think I could benefit from this project because it involves working with a team and doing your part to reach the goals of the team, much like in a real working environment.

Some concerns and challenges I think my group and I may have with this project would be, maybe have difficulty with assigning the different people in the group to their jobs, deciding on the topic of our project, and just being able to compromise on things in general. Some benefits that I think this project will have for me is being able to work better in a group setting, manage time, and communicate better. This project will help me with my writing skills by boosting my ability to either create a proposal, instruction manual, or an advertising plan, depending on my job in my group. This project will also help me in my future career if I ever need to do any of these things in it.

1. Some challenges that groups have is a certain few having to do most of the work and then one person doesn’t really do much or they don’t care and they still get the same credit that everyone else got. Another challenge would be not everyone agreeing on a topic, sometimes it’s hard to get 4 or 5 people to agree on the main topic of the project. Also communicating is a challenge, if you need help from someone in your group or to tell them something and they don’t answer your emails or texts. 2. I think this project might have a positive impact on my writing because a lot of projects that are based on writing are always steps to becoming a better writer. Mostly any kind of writing you do helps your writing skills so this project will be another way to becoming better.

1. Concerns and challenges: Concerned about pairing and chemistry in group. That should be the only issue. I should be able to hold up my end in this event. If I get a task that’s has two people assigned and my partner is a rock , I hope I am a strong enough swimmer. No, I do not have an ego problem . I may in fact be the ROCK. Hope not. 2. 1.Some of the challenges I think my group may face are time management making sure we are on track with getting everything done. Another challenge we may face is if t everyone in the group doesn’t get along and some people not doing their part of the group .Everyone need to contribute to get the project done.
2.Some of the benefits I think I will get from this project is working with different people in a group effort a lot of job consist of you working with other people. I also think it will improve my writing skills by having other people help you revise your work.

I have no concerns that the group may have with this project because I believe all our peer revision exercises went very well. Some challenges though will possibly be some ideas pushed aside. There’s no such thing as a bad idea but some ideas may be better than others and that is when I believe the group will come into conflict. This project should be a fun and exciting project to work on, also a good way to get to know peers in our class that we possibly haven’t had a chance to talk too.

Some benefits this project will have will be working in a group and learning how some people work different and some very similar. So far all exercises in this class have help me realize how I write my papers and how some words don’t fit in sentences when others do. I enjoy others reading my paper because its not only an opinion with all the comments left but their personal input from all the experience of writing they have had. This will help in my future career depending on if i have to work with peers to solve a problem.

Project 5

1. I wasn’t here last class when Professor talked about the group project so I will just assume what she talked about . I think one challenge that groups will have while doing a group project is not understanding one another. Some of the group members will have different views then others so that might start some controversy or trouble on deciding what product to chose. 2. I think that this project will benefit me/us because it will help with social skills and the way we interact with one another. Also it will help us with our listening skills and how we take in other people’s ideas and the way they think. I think that project will help me with my writing skills because I need to brainstorm and break down ways to invent a product and describe the product in a well written way that people can understand.

Reflection on Project 4

1) My biggest concern about this project will be group members. I know we will face some challenges during project like writing effective project, handling the pressure. Other challenges could be not contributing ideas and work with other group member. 2) We will get great benefits by doing this project in groups. It will give us opportunities to develop new skills and contribute some idea and knowledge on writing skill. It will certainly bring different idea for the same work. Now that we have discussed the Collaborative Group project I would like you to take a moment to consider two things: 1. Tell us about any concerns and challenges you think you or your group may have with the project. Of course, I'm asking you to predict some of these things, but in effort to engage in them instead of ignoring any situations that may arise. I think the typical problems that arise in any collaborative effort may come into play, such as different ideas, interpersonal problems, and overall disagreements on the direction of the "invention" and what we want it to be. My group members seem like cool guys though so I don't think it will be too much of a problem. 2. Explain what benefits you think this project will have for you. What do you think this project will do to help you with your writing skills? Future career? I don't know how much this will affect my future career, but I think everyone can benefit from learning how to organize their ideas in a coherent manner.

1. I’m not exactly sure what kind of problems we’re going to run into, but I can see some that may arise. Perhaps the communication won’t be perfect due to the size of group. Also, there may not be enough time in class to accomplish what we need to.

2. I believe I’ll benefit from this project by having some group related experience. In the real world we will have to work with people, so introducing us to that now can only help in the future.

1. I don’t have any concerns other than that everyone in the group completes their part of the project and does what their supposed to do. But I feel that this is unlikely for this class. I think this is going to be very challenging because some people aren’t as creative as others and everyone thinks different. 2. The benefits of this project will help with our creative thinking and get us to come up with new ideas and in today’s careers you need to be able to think outside the box and come up with different things. This should help us to write more thoroughly about specific details and make sure that everything is clear for the reader.

Collaborative Group Project reaction

A challenge for me might be working with people I have not worked with before, which I have a feeling im going to have to do. Its not that big of a problem, I just feel as if things would go more smoothly if I knew my group member. Aside from that, I feel like its just another group activity I have to do. Working through slight desagreements is easy considerind typically, no one want to be the one person to oppose the rest of the group. I feel like this project will help me in my career because I will obviously have to work out probhlems and work with others.

Some challenges I think may appear would be the distributing of the work, some people might not be able to do the things others can. I think this project will help all of us work well in groups when we are in our own field. It will also show us how others work, which we may need later on. As for writing skills this project should help us write a document as a group, which I have never done before.

1.The one main concern I have with this project is that some people in the group might not do their work. This will affect the whole group not just that one person. I hope this won’t happen but if it does I hope my group will be able to fix the problem. Another concern I have is that we might not all be able to agree on certain things or agree on who does what part of the project.

2.I think this project will help me work better with a group since I usually do things by myself. It will teach me how to handle different situations in a group setting that could happen when I start my career.

1. My biggest concern about this project is a potential lack of communication. I am worried that once everyone is given their assignment for the project, they will just go off on their own and do it without any consultation with other members of the group. It will definitely be a challenge to have everyone work together as one big team instead of working as five individuals. 2. This project will benefit me because it will teach me how to work with people that I am unfamiliar with, and how to adapt on the fly to a new working environment. It will also teach me to write my thoughts clearly and explain my thoughts thoroughly, because my teammates might not understand what I am saying, even though it makes sense to me.

Collaborative group work is always a challenge in terms of working together and finding the time to work as a group. The group has to meet frequently for status report and updates. I feel like this will be a challenge because time schedule might vary in terms of availability of each member. However, I feel like this is a fantastic project because it gives us the chance to work in a group and experience the challenges that might occur in our daily jobs.

I believe time managment might be an issue between the groups, time as in getting all the information from each person organized before the day we have to present. Also everyone doing there assigned part in the project might be a concern, but I am sure once each person chooses there choice in what they want to do they will begin to work on it. I also hope each group memeber is able to come up with an invetion that will make everyone happy, and interest the whole group. I believe this project will help me think a lot about what might be a good invention to present to the class. It might also help me with time managment because i cant slack on my group, we have to work together as a team. this will definitly help me with my future career because it will help me work with others and realize that i may or may not like everyone i work with but there comes a time when you will have to work with people you may not like. this will help me with strategies to deal with something like that.

Group Project - Concerns:

1. Since we haven't received our groups yet I can't really be specific about the challenges/concerns I have about the project. There are 5 "roles" to choose from and I am sure there are going to be too many people that want a certain role. Another challenge that could arise is agreeing on an "invention" If there are many different ideas and people are set on them, then there is going to have to be a lot of compromising. On the other hand you can find yourself in a situation where no one has any ideas and as a whole the group cannot come to a conclusion in regards to creating an invention. 2. I think this project will provide good practice in respect to communication skills. Since working in groups is most likely going to be a task we all will revisit in the future, I think that it is an important assignment.
