I want you to tell us a couple things in reflection of this project:
1. How did you go about developing your resume (give me a detailed reflection here).
2. If you had more time on this project what would you have worked on or developed more?
3. What value did you find in working on your Cover Letter and Resume?
1)The resume was origanally created as a collaboration .I went to the department of labor and we hammered it out. Later I revised it with a little more polish.
ReplyDelete2)I would definitely benefit from reworking some of the sentences. I would also add memberships in organizations that I position in.
3)The benefit would have to be dusting of the old and breathing some new life into it.I also got a look at some new formats.
The text book was a great help in developing a cover letter and resume. Using the examples provided I was able to do this project. I had to eliminate some short term work experiences for space and content concerns.
ReplyDeleteDoing the job search helped creating a resume and finding the target audience. I know now which courses to take and why. Tech suppoet may not be the answer for a new career.
Spending more time on the job search could give an idea for a new career path. The current curriculum does not satisfy many of the job openings available. Another stint at Stony Brook may help but will require more time in school than I wish. I have to limit myself to what I can achieve in the workforce.
Its all in how you spin it. I took 18 years as a carpenter and spun it into a sales job. I took a 20 year old work experience and spun it into a store manager job. Not lies, alternate point of view on how things relate .
