1. Obama discusses our changing world and economy throughout his speech. I’d like you to answer his call for action. Obama asks: “What would you change about the world?” I’d like you to consider and discuss in what ways your career, profession, or job can help to change the world. Be specific.
Obama asks what would we change about the world? I believe this is a very good question to ask. Due to the recession and many government problems, the United States as it is now, is falling apart. In my own opinion, I believe many things could be changed but with not a sufficient amount of research, I cannot speak myself, or for the people. From my knowledge though, a lot of Americans continue to complain and suffer as well, on how bad the economy really is.
I’m not sure exactly how my career choice would help this situation because becoming a Respiratory Therapist is a medical profession, not a government job. Although the government has pull in hospitals. It mostly has to do with the higher professionals in the field. Becoming a respiratory therapist will help those in need of respiratory assistance but not so much government wise. Yes, a patient may suffer from breathing problems and it’ll be my job to help them and save a life as well, but personally in financial ways, it has no effect whatsoever. As a Respiratory therapist, I look to provide those with care who have problems breathing to the best of my ability and by doing so hopefully helping those who have a word in the government to speak up and make changes in our economy. Many businessmen look for their own benefit, but the message that is trying to be delivered in the transcript, is that the world needs to unite to make it a better place for everyone.
Becoming an Information Technologist, on the other hand, will help the government in many ways. Being able to use computer knowledge now a days is a plus. Mostly everything in the future will consist of technology and being able to follow this skill all the way through will help many as well as the government in a long run. Yes, knowing that many crooks out there can corrupt the systems and do whatever it is in their power to ruin other people’s lives stills stands. But with many positive outlooks, those will perish who try to go against the rules. Being an information technologist will help with financial problems because using a top computer to figure out whatever the topic may be, will be done in a fast and productive way. Technology is everywhere, whether is a cell phone, laptop, computer or going to cars or anything. Everything is somehow wired to technology and having full knowledge of it and full potential of whatever the product may be will help the government by either adjusting or updating the old information.
