I used the internet as well as the textbook to create my resume. Although the internet had a lot of different styles, I chose to use the textbook more. I followed their advice of keeping it neat and actually formed a pretty a good resume in my opinion. I have never written a resume before so for my first one, I think it came out pretty well.
Honestly, I don’t believe I could have worked on it anymore. There was really only a certain amount of information that could be put on the resume. As for the cover letter I spent a good amount of time editing and revising it, so I think it came out decently. Even with more time there would be really nothing to expand on. There is only a certain amount of work experience and accomplishments that we have now, in the coming years we will be able to really make the resume better.
I’m glad we did this as a project because I was actually going to write a resume/cover letter on my own time. When I first saw the syllabus I changed my mind. Now I feel as if I have a better shot at getting an internship that I apply for. The textbook also really helped out, if I wouldn’t have had it I would have relied solely on the internet. Also, it was good to have someone look over it and give suggestions or edit it. It really makes a better cover letter/resume. It's also good that i can use this template for the future as well.
